Colors

I started each day teaching the children  how to spell the color words.
The 4th and 5th Graders re-created this chart in their science logs:

I shared these color cards and color poems with K-1

I used her unit for the the signs.

With the K-1 we made this chart together:

When we exhausted our brain power, I pulled out the crayon books that I got at the Dollar Tree this summer.

On another day we talked about secondary colors:

We did the color experiment from Deanna Jump.
When we did the experiment and then moved the post-it notes :)

I introduced my friend ROY G. BIV

I didn't want to write the letters over again, so I just folded the paper in half. :)
In the 4th and 5th grades we filled out a color chart:
 They also drew a rainbow:

We read the book My many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss and discussed our emotions.

Rain Guages

I am not sure if you can see them at first glance, but there a bunch of rain gauges
in the grass.  We taped a copy of four unifix cubes and a tongue depressor on the outside.
When we went to check on them, they were a little frozen! (ick!!!)
The child says to another, "Look at my leaf.  It is swimming in a hot tub!"

Here was the blackline that we recorded how much rain had fallen the last few days.
One unifix cube- wow!  I didn't know it rained that much!
