Learning Calendar Board

What started here for our calendar board and it has changed from this:

Our calendar has changed...
Our numbers have changed...
Our colors have changed...
Our shapes have changed...

We have added theme or alphabet charts under the feelings.

To this:

That blue square is to find and locate the letter we are working on.  Now we have environmental print alphabet in there.

We are stepping up our school game and adding more to our board to keep it fresh.  Our new "year" begins in September.

Grab the letters here

Grab the numbers here

Grab the shapes here

Grab the colors here

There is still more to come!

I still have plans to add all about the letter and all about the number.

Well it is almost July and I have run out of calendars for pensive for summer school. I don't know where I got the ones I used during the year so I made new ones :)

Take a look at it at TPT.

Calendar Club

I posted this a while back about my calendar time. This is the sheet that I have for the students to sign when they complete:
We have been doing Calendar Club for a while now plus we have been writing our names for well ummmmmm... much much longer so I read the names off the list:

We don't have a Gare in our class- the student and I did get a chuckle our of this- I think we did the -are word family that day and I think he was so wrapped up in that- that he changed his mind :)

Calendar Club

I started a calendar club with the children.  I wanted the children to be more actively engaged during calendar time, so I created this recording sheet.

Everything that is on the sheet is from our calendar corner. I added reading a graph though. Another thing that I have included, was in one of the boxes, the children do one of five things.

Monday: Write our Star Words for the week.
Tuesday: Write word family words
Wednesday: They write something about our schedule.
Thursday: Use tally marks.
Friday: Rhyming Words

I quickly look at their papers to see if they are in the "Club" then they sign their name to the paper. I display it. I was thinking of laminating it, but then I like the idea of keeping track of who is consistently finishing their work.

Calendar

I needed to beef up my calendar now that the new year has begun. I like the idea of calendar binders, but another binder is just another expense that I don't want to spend. We had homework binders, but the children destroyed them :(

Does anyone have any tips for keeping the homework binders safer? They weren't on the supply list, so the teachers just bought them.  The hope is that next year, that as a supply item, they will last longer.

Anyways, I was inspired by Shari Sloane and Kim Adsit to create my own. It covers everything on our calendar: We have to write the date with dashes, today is, the weather, the season, yesterday, today and tomorrow, and answer the question of the day graph. You can find all of my graphs on my website.

Check out the form on Teachers Pay Teachers.

I'd love the hear your feedback.
