Bling

In our first grade, we rotate students based on ability for math. I get a mixture of children from the other classes. I used regular craft sticks, glue dots, and jewels.

When the kids are doing an outstanding job, I award them with a jewel.  When I call on them, I place the stick under the ELMO and it really sparkles and they really "oooo and ahhhh."
