What's in the Box: Fine Motor

I have a plastic bin full of stuff!  I always want to see what's in "the box"  it is the most exciting thing, like ever!  So here starts our series What's in the Box!!

Here's the stuff!

We use these around Easter time.

I grabbed them at Wal~Mart,

near the egg dying section.

Tongs-

Big ones came from Dollar Tree

I think the little ones came from Wal~Mart

Push Pins from Target

Lacing strings-

I pull them from those lacing cards from

Target and store them together.

I think they grow legs and walk away. lol

These are those bath clings so you don't slip.

But they are frogs!!

How to use:

Flip upside down so the suction cups are up.

Place one marble in each suction cup.

These cute little tongs are from Wal~Mart.

They are found in the kitchen section.

At least in my store, they were in small, 

plastic containers on a shelf.

You can get them on Amazon too.

We got these last year at Target.  They came in tiny Terra cotta pots.

These are HUGE! Like the size of a coffee cup.

They are plastic though- not sure it matters though.

Pointers for guided reading.

Pocket folder and dots.

I used the folder for our non-standard measuring work.

The dots are for our shake-ups.

A little about our 14 days of Love:

It's something that we do the first 14 days of February.  I have a felt envelope that is left every day with a small gift.

Here are some of the units we will use this month in Kinderpond:

To store these, I print one color copy and glue it to the front of 

a Manila envelop and laminate.

Then all the copies go in the inside.

I don't make colored copies for the students

Mitten Colors

During reading groups, we read this mini pocket chart:

Roll a number cube and color that many mittens

or

Roll a color cube and color the mitten that color.

10 winter themed spinners

I use for word work.

I laminate these and use a wet erase marker for the students to spin and write the letter.

I use this in my word work choices.

I use an old CD cover with a spinner hot glued on to it.

This is a shaker.  Kids shake a container filled with different things-

I would do plain white rice for this one.

You cut up one of the included sheets and the kids shake to find the pictures.

Winter I-Spy

This is a class book that we make.

I print out enough pages so that everyone gets to be apart of the story!

I laminate each page and write a child's name on each page.
