Polar Exploring

We did some polar writing. The students used several theme words and wrote a story and illustrated their story.

Another Expand Your Vocabulary strategy is Voracious Reading. This is where you read many different kinds of books to get a wide variety of words.

We finally got to our "Expand Vocabulary" we learned to Tune into Interesting Words.

Today we learned about "Fluency" and Voracious reading. Under this heading, we read the same thing over and over again.

Another strategy that we learned under "Accuracy" is cross checking. Do the pictures and word match?

Our first reading strategy goes under "Comprehension" is Check for Understanding. We must always think about what we are reading.

June 21- First Day of Summer School

Our first day of summer school went okay. I know most of my students and I met a few new ones. Welcome to everyone! We have a classroom store. The children and I discussed what credits would be for what. We also talked about what debits would happen as well. Each child has a credit and debit sheet and we use it daily!
